    What is the best way for getting a cheap fare from Stockholm to Aaland?
    It seems a little confusing with some prices starting at 40 SEK but then going up to 260, for just a basic fare.
    Plus, I have seen last minute to Aabo for 35SEK. Is it possible to book this and then get off at Aaland?

You have different options. If you want to take the ferry that goes straight from Stockholm to Mariehamn (Åland), it's Viking Line or Silja Line, and you can either take the early morning one, or in in the late afternoon. There are also options from smaller ports north of Stockholm, with bus connections to the Stockholm City.

I assume you don't have any vehicle. You could technically buy a Turku/Åbo return ticket as you found a special deal - and get off in Mariehamn. If you buy a regular round trip one (they're always round trip with open return, whether you use the retun or not), Viking Linwe quotes the prise 165 SEK right now (high season). The cheaper deals you've found are likely to be for day cruises, meaning you can't use the return another day, even if you're free to get off in Mariehamn.
